Todo está en los libros
La literatura es como un gran almacén. Se guardan en él todas las emociones humanas, nuestros sueños y nuestras preguntas, y leer es entrar en ese almacén y tomar lo que necesitamos. El lector devuelve a la vida, a través de lectura, lo que el escritor tomó de ella para escribir sus libros, con lo que el círculo se cierra. Bernhard Schlink ha escrito una novela, sobre la que acaba de hacerse una película, que es una delicada metáfora de todo esto. Se titula El lector y en ella un adolescente conoce a una mujer que le dobla la edad y con la que inicia una apasionada relación. En las pausas de sus encuentros sexuales, ella le pide que le lea los libros que estudia en la escuela. El muchacho lo hace, y las palabras de esos libros regresan a la vida en forma de caricias y encendidos besos. Y el muchacho quedará marcado para siempre por esa turbadora mezcla.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year
